On a spur of the moment whim Jean and I decided to take a trip out to Starved Rock State Park over the 4th of July. It was a gamble considering camping spots are first come first serve, but it paid off.
I was in awe of the landscape of Starved Rock. Never did I think i would see cliffs and valleys in Illinois. We hiked for a good ten miles or so over two days. I got to spend quality time with the wife and am looking forward to visiting this place in the near future.
I was browsing some of my photos from a couple months ago and came across this one from the Museum of Modern Art. It was a wallpaper that was a art piece located by the bathrooms near the modern wing.
It was a really packed weekend with little downtime to just relax and enjoy the nothingness! My wife and I got to take a short trip down to the city, between church and dinner with the family, to visit my sister in law in her new apartment (1 block from Millennium Park!). All I can say is I wish I would’ve just moved into Chicago instead of living up in the burbs! There’s so much to do and see when everything is within walking distance. Now that I have a place to crash in the loop I’ll definitely make more visits before my time is up in Chicago.

Can someone please tell me what these things are? I see them all over the city streets!
Just a couple of pictures I thought were interesting from my trip to the museum of science and industry, I really wish we got to see more of the science of storms exhibit. The Tesla coil would’ve been a very cool photo op.
Afterwards we swung by 7 Treasures in Chinatown to try their famous 554 dish. For just a paltry $5 you can buy yourself some really tasty comfort food Asian style!
One of the perks of working for Dell is I get some non disclosure agreement on new software titles. Adobe CS5 release is something I’m super excited for. If you haven’t already had the change to view the Photoshop CS5 content aware function, it looks very promising and almost unreal!
In addition to that the full 64-bit functionality and multi-core integration will be something I will forward to benchmarking on my i7 system.
Just a few shots of Jean and her friends on one of their last outtings together as a group. Everyone will be off in their respective cities soon having new adventures. I think it’s a good time to set up a blog for them!
New York was a long over due trip, we planned out several places to go but didn’t get a chance to visit every place in 3 days. Jean and I ate at over 19 different restaurants and will be back soon to tackle more. Oddly enough I think my favorite dish was the $6 lamb and chicken combo at the 53rd and 6th St. Halal Cart.
